American-Palestinian Teenager Released After Nine Months in Israel's Imprisonment

An American-Palestinian teenager who spent a nine-month period in Israel's custody absent formal charges gained freedom.

Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old at the time of his arrest this past winter throughout the West Bank territory, where he was visiting from his Florida home for allegedly throwing stones against settlement residents, which he previously denied.

United States authorities said it welcomed the news of Mohammed's release.

Mohammed, now 16, required hospitalization right after being freed, relatives told the media.

American authorities stated they would maintain to extend consular services to Mohammed's family.

Mr Ibrahim, a father-of-four managing a frozen treats business in Florida, had earlier stated Mohammed acknowledged allegations about rock throwing after being assaulted by soldiers.
