Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

The comedian

Best-selling children's author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the publisher commented: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an review of claims about questionable actions towards young women.

The publisher has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies globally in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

He has published more than 40 books combined, which features a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
