Plane Transporting US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Cockpit Window

An aircraft carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was required to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the plane's windshield, per an announcement which stated that Hegseth was safe.

"The plane landed in accordance with standard procedures and everyone onboard, such as Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a press officer stated in a social media post.

Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to Brussels when the incident occurred.

This occurrence isn't the initial instance that a American defense plane carrying a senior official has suffered equipment failures.

In a previous incident this year, a American military jet ferrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Munich was compelled to head back to Washington DC after experiencing a mechanical fault.
