Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday evening. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Healing from Light Wounds

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

His release from the hospital follows the sports world offered sympathy for the champion in the aftermath of the heartbreaking incident.
